MGA/AGM GeoQuilt 2007

MGAlOGO

We are starting a fund raiser for the MGA/AGM 2007 Event.

Those of you that are interested in participating are asked to submit a "signature" quilt block. Once your block is submitted, your name will go into the draw.

It is not necessary to attend the MGA/AGM Event 2007 to win this quilt.

Here are the details, for submitting a block.

1 - A "block" of fabric is to be cut 6" X 6".  (See Note, down below)

2 - You must include $5.00, per block, if you wish you add your name in the draw.

3 - Blocks (along with the money) are to be submitted to:

The 3 Geeks Outdoor Store
386 Hammonds Plains Road
Bedford, Nova Scotia
B4B 1A2
N 44° 43.543 W 063° 41.655

4 - Do NOT write or print or draw near the edge. I need AT LEAST 1/4" on all sides of your block, for the seams.

5 - Don't forget to add your caching name, to your block. Practice writing on a scrap of fabric and give it the "water test". Otherwise, once this quilt is washed, your "signature" will run and eventually fade away.

6 - Deadline for submitting your block is the 1st of March 2007.

These blocks will be forwarded to me, as they come in. I also hope to post pictures, on this web page, for others to view and to give you an idea on the progress of the "quilt". Size of the quilt will depend on how many blocks are submitted.

Basically, 675 blocks should make a queen sized quilt.

"Signature" Quilt Block:

This block should represent you, as a cacher, your favorite location,

your favorite cache... whatever...

It's YOUR block - as long as it meets the above requirements and is family friendly,

it WILL be in the quilt.

Suggestions?

Embroider or appliqué your design.

Print your logo or avatar (or whatever) with transfer paper and then iron it on your "block".

Pigma MICRON pen is WATERPROOF and comes in different colors.

(Draw on your fabric. Let it dry. Iron. Voilà!)

Fabric crayons - haven't tried them, but they should be waterproof.

Waterproof ink - make up your own "stamp" and stamp it on your block.

Fabric? You decide. Cotton is preferable, but not necessary.

Background color? You decide. It's YOUR block, after all... *s*

NOTE: The success of this quilt (and fund raiser) will depend on how many participate. Please feel free to pass the word along to other cachers

in the Maritime/Atlantic region.

 ALSO NOTE:  6" X 6" CUT fabric = 5-1/2" X 5-1/2" FINISHED block.

Therefore, you have 5-1/2" X 5-1/2" space to write, print or draw on your block.

DO NOT WRITE OR PRINT on the EDGES of your "block"!
