Day 6

 (Friday - 13 July 2007)

I had taken the day off and went to Calais, Maine. Arrived around 5h30... Gilbert had arrived from work, changed clothes and was already hard at work.

He is working on the little side entrance - what we call the "Cat Room".  That's where their litter and cat food usually is.  For such a small little room, there's an awful lot of work to be done, there.  *s*

Here, Gilbert is showing me how he plans on making a nice, wooden "box", for the electrical panel.

Thank God the previous owners had gotten the old wiring replaced by new (modern and approved) ones. *s*

NOTE: Windows for that entrance no longer exist. Not much lighting in there, for now.

Electrical box and door framing are done. Window above the door was "capped". Since we really don't need that much lighting in that room, PLUS the cold was coming in, during the winter, we decided to cap off that window and select a cheapie, but good door.

Another picture of that side door.

It sure sounds simple and quick, but I know that Gilbert put in MANY man hours, on this small and almost unimportant room. But, since he was into renovations and the cold was coming in, BIG TIME, he decided to "fix it". *s*

Framing and gyprock are left to be done, around this door.

Friday evening, around 7 or 8 pm, he decides to stop for the evening.

Thunder is always nearby, inspecting Gilbert's work. LOL
