Day 28

 (Saturday, 22 September 2007)

Up early and head out the door at 9 a.m., to go do some errands and pick up what Gilbert calls "Wall Angles".  I like to call them "L-shaped" strips of metal.  *grin*

These L-shaped thingies are screwed on the wall and will hold the ceiling tiles.

Now, since this old house is crooked, EVERY WHERE, Gilbert had previously drawn his pencil line on where the L-shaped thingies should go - in other words, how high or low our ceiling would be. Well, the paint that we picked up was SOOOO nice and thick and we had to paint OVER this pencil line.... unfortunately, parts of his pencil line disappeared!  He was in conundrum (SP?) as to how to figure out how low or high the L-shaped thingies should go.

While we were in Montreal, last week, at Addison's, Gilbert picked up a set of intercom system. As we're mostly upstairs and James is downstairs, it was difficult to get his attention. This way, when we need him, we just speak through the intercom. PLUS, the intercom will be useful for Gilbert to get a hold of me... when I'll be in my own (dreamland) "sewing room".

Gilbert also picked up a strip of plastic, in a "U-shape". This is to cover up wires. He HATES wires that are exposed to the eye. *grin*

These 2 items were actually installed this week.

Here's Gilbert, in the ladder, screwing in the L-Shaped thingy.

Gilbert, re-studying the "line" of L-shaped thingies and making sure that when he's ready to install the ceiling tiles, that it'll be okay.

Here's a picture of the L-shaped thingies, over James' bedroom door.

Since most of our phones were getting outdated, I happened to come across a good deal, while out doing our errands.  Two portable phones, for $30.00.

Sooo... one will go in my sewing room and one in James' room.

Now, Gilbert still needs to figure out (and buy) the metal thingies that go ACROSS the room. Since this job only took him like 2 or 3 hours(?), I was SURE we'd be heading out the door to pick up the metal thingies that go ACROSS the room, the same day.

NOTE: I REALLY think I'm starting to HATE shopping!  LOL

Anyhow, he assures me that this will wait till next weekend.  As we just got back from vacation, he wants to be sure that the budget is all lined-up, for these purchases.

During the evening, and while he's crunching up numbers, he tells me that my sewing room should be finished by the end of October.  *VBG*
